Jamie Neale, Internet Marketing and God
Yesterday I read in the newspaper the story of British teenager, Jamie Neale, 19 who was found alive after being reported lost in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia.
Neale an experienced hiker, went for a hike in the mountain on July 2 without his mobile phone. He was reported missing the next day when he failed to attend the hostel for a scheduled outing. His parents living in the UK were distraught and his father Richard Cass arrived in Australia to assist in the search operation.
While recovering in the hospital, Neale said he could hear the sound of the helicopters hovering in the mountain to find him. He went to high ground and waved frantically with his hands but the sheer density of the forest prevented him to be seen. He even questioned if God exists because the rescuers could not find him. He feared they might stop looking for him and would die in the mountain never to be seen alive again.
Neale survived the near sub zero winter condition and thrived on water, seeds and weeds for almost a fortnight. By sheer coincidence two hikers found him in the mountain and brought him to safety. His father who was about to board the airplane back to UK was ecstactic and could not believe his son was alive.
I am amazed of this story and can compare it to our internet marketing journey. When Neale talked to God to let the rescuers see him in the middle of the forest, the answer of God was essentially “not yet my child.” He was to sleep some more nights in the wilderness not knowing if he will die or be found alive.
If we are honest with ourselves we all want to land big time in our chosen industry. We want to start earning this huge amount of money which we hear others are earning, even though we have not learned the knowledge and skills necessary to run the business. We start to question why God does not give it to us now.
As in Neale’s case, God replied “not yet my child.” He wants us to learn how to run the business and the right attitude of patience and perseverance before He gives the fruit of our labor to us. He wants to test our faith on Him, how far we will trust Him despite our difficulties in trying to carve a niche of our own in the internet world.
Till next post, enjoy!

I’m so glad you told this story.
It’s true, sometimes… in fact most times we need to pray for help and it’s not such a bad idea involving the big man upstairs either.
Blessings,
Rob

Nov 29, 09 at 8:20 pmHi Nona,
I think I saw this post a while back when I visited your blog, but it now has even more meaning for me.
I just watched the movie, “Pursuit of Happyness” starring Will Smith. I had seen excerpts of it before. Talk about patience and perseverance!! Chris Gardner (Will’s character) REALLY exhibited those characteristics. And God gave him the fruit of his labors. It did me good to see that movie and KNOW that if I just keep up the patience and perseverance, and continue to rely on God, I WILL receive the fruit of my labors.
Something else I’ve noticed, too. I went back to rework something I had set up earlier (landing page, Aweber codes and follow-up messages, paypal code, etc.) for a campaign I’m doing, and I realized that I now UNDERSTAND what I am doing. Before, I was just following directions, but now, I’ve GOT it. I realized that I am indeed learning the “knowledge and skills necessary to run the business” as you said in your post.
It’s encouraging to see us all growing up in this business.

Thanks for visiting and its great to know that you got it now! That’s a great achievement ~ to have this knowledge and understanding of the business is the starting point. Keep on building on it and implementing what you have learned and success will be yours.
I am also excited implementing what we have learned from the past trainings we had. Everyone of us have different ways and pace of learning, but the important thing is we continue to plod on. Happy this post of mine somehow resonated with our experiences with IM!
All the best to you!
