We are living in an unprecedented era of vast information brought about by the internet and people never stop in their quest for knowledge to find solutions to their problems to improve their own lives.  The information people find are stored in different formats like ebook (electronic book), cd rom, video, or audio accessible through the use of electronic devices. In this article I will share with you what I think are the advantages of  ebooks.

First, ebooks are not printed on paper like traditional physical books, hence, production costs are low and friendly to the environment.  You can open and read them in your computer screen and when you finished reading, they are stored in your computer. You can make hard copies with your computer printer and carry them with you to a quiet place to be read. 

 Ebooks come in downloadable form and may have been typed in word document converted to a portable document format (PDF.) Why is there a need to convert to PDF, you may ask?  The reason for this is because a word document can easily be stolen while being emailed as an attachment.  A document created in a PDF form is more secure and can not just be tampered upon.  Most computers have pre-installed PDF software like Adobe Acrobat.  If your computer does not have one, you can search on Google and access Adobe Acrobat and convert your word documents to PDF entirely free.

Due to the very low production costs, ebook products can be passed on to consumer cheaply or even for free. Haven’t you noticed the proliferation of ebooks on various topics in the internet?  The ebook phenomenon has leveled the playing field for anyone interested in creating information products for sale in the internet!

Nowadays internet marketers give away ebooks on related topics as bonuses to accompany the main product they are promoting.  By doing so, the perceived value of the total package increases in the eyes of the customer, the desire to buy intensifies, and  most likely resulting to a sale.  Customers have developed the habit of bonus hopping before deciding from whom to buy the product, which is won by the marketer who has the most valuable and useful bonuses.

With ebooks, you have instant access by the push of a button while physical books will require shipment and customers have to wait literally for days or weeks before they can enjoy reading them.  Ebooks have broken down the barrier of producing reading materials by providing a way of creating your own information products which you can do yourselves at very minimal costs. 

The current ebook trend has revolutionize the way information is stored in a simpler, instant access format which can be produced fast by ordinary people.  Many people have been selling ebooks on eBay through classified ads format, and through their own websites.  They generate thousands of money from this business model.
